Duties and Responsibilities
Incumbent may perform any combination of the tasks listed below:

Assists in development of standards-compliant websites and blogs using XHTML, CSS and other appropriate applications and software

Assists in production of email and web templates, and static and flash banners

Performs a variety of tasks relating to front-end web and multimedia support including building Flash applications, using Photoshop to prepare photos for website use, converting mock-ups of websites to a working webpage with valid codes, and conducts cross-browser testing and implementation

Uses content management systems for posting content, photos, videos and other materials to the website

Utilizes various applications to create web and multimedia projects of a highly sophisticated nature

Assists in the creation of interfaces, animations, graphics and videos

Uses common research tools and systems, including frequent use of the Internet

Creates, develops and produces materials for use on CTA-supported websites and other projects
-
Composes and prepares correspondence for the Associate Executive Director and TID Division staff

Edits and proofreads a variety of documents, including website and video content with attention to grammar, punctuation, spelling and style
-
Arranges meetings and conferences, prepares materials for duplication and performs other logistical duties as assigned

Prepares, compiles, and maintains files, reports and records as needed
-
Provides back-up secretarial support for the Associate Executive Director as needed

Performs other appropriate duties as assigned
Qualifications - Minimum Required
-
BA/BS and 1 year relevant experience or AA and three years relevant experience, or 6 years relevant experience

Experience and strong knowledge of current web technologies (XHTML, HTML, CCS, Javascript, Flash, Photoshop, Actionscript, JQuery, etc) and visual development frameworks and software (Wordpress, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc)

Knowledge of current and commonly used web trends, resources and multimedia concepts and practices, including Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices, Sitecore experience a plus

Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job

Demonstrated ability to exercise planning, coordinating and follow through skills as applied to large complex logistical projects

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Ability to work cooperatively with fellow employees, leadership and management in a complex interdependent organization structure

Ability to learn and communicate CTA structure, policies, and procedures
-
Ability to learn and utilize computer software programs used by CTA
-
Exceptional attention to detail and consistency
-
Able to work overtime as needed
* This position is in a bargaining unit represented by CAS. Salaries are established by a collective bargaining agreement. Step placement is also determined by the CTA/CAS Agreement.
